So here goes with a project I finished last fall. It started out as a worn wooden wheelbarow planter that was given to us by a friend.
My munchkin could often be found using it as a bunny cart among other things.
Needless to say, it had seen better days and in his hands it was soon in several pieces. I loved the patina of the old wood and was not ready to toss it out. It was in too many broken pieces to fix, but I wanted to give it a new life. When I looked at the pieces that were left, I was inspired to add large pieces of bark to the edges of the bottom of the wheelbarrow that managed to stay in one piece, and turn it into a mini display easel.
Here it is with a grouping of autumn accessories I was working on at the time.
And here it is with a more recent project displayed on it...
A monogram that I cutfrom the page of an old encyclopediaandglued onto a small canvas that I had previously disassembled, painted over and distressed. I love the wheel peeking out on the top. What do you think?
Stay tuned for an upcoming project out of the remaining pieces of this wheelbarrow...
