Rustic Spring Wreath With Vintage Bottles

Oh I am so excited at the thought of Spring arriving and have been daydreaming about gorgeous gardens and outdoor projects. And I am so happy to share my latest inspiration for Spring decor with you today along with a whole bunch of other talented bloggers with a blog hop... not bunny hop... although you may see some bunnies on this blog hop!...

I have to admit to having craft ADDHD. And with this project I started out with one idea and as I gathered materials to finish it... I got sidetracked and inspired by material in eyeshot and created something totally different... this has never happened to me before... but boy am I glad that it did!

Here is a list of the materials that you will need to make a similar wreath...

vine for making wreath, or an already made grapevine wreath
wood frame the size of your wreath or slightly larger
small glass bottles in different shapes and sizes
thin wire for wrapping the bottles
green moss - faux or dried
faux berry sprig or flowers to place in bottles
ribbon or chain for hanging your wreath
optional - small metal tray, silver egg shaped beads

I began by wrapping the neck of the bottles with the wire and twisting the end tight. Then I wrapped the wire around the vine wreath and over the bottle a couple of times.

I spotted some of these faux moss rocks that I had bought at the dollar store in my stash of materials and thought I could incorporate some moss into the wreath. I simply peeled the moss cover off the styrofoam and cut into thin pieces.

I tucked it into the vine wreath in random spots and think it adds more interest. You could use dried moss. I also took apart a simple green berry wreath and added small branches to the bottles. I wanted it to look like buds ready to flower which is what Spring is all about... new life.

I found a frame that was almost the same size as the wreath and added it behind the wreath to make it more substantial and for another layer of interest. I love how the bottles look when the sunlight shines through them.

I used bias seam tape in sage green as a means for hanging the wreath and added bows where the tape attached to the frame.

I cut a larger piece of the faux moss and attached it with some double sided tape to the mini tray which once held a very small salt and pepper shaker. The silver eggs are actually beads that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I love the contrast between the moss and the silver and the harlequin pattern on the beads.

Here it is all complete. I just love how it turned out. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
